What Makes a Good BookSubmitted by John Pappan on Thu, 02/15/2018 - 12:00pm
When I was younger, I would read many different genres of books. Such adventure, romance, mystery, thriller, horror, fantasy, etc. But now as I've gotten older and found what I like, I normally just read horror or fantasy books and doing that's not a bad thing at all because I have found what works for me to keep me interested and reading. This doesn't mean I won't ever read another mystery or a thriller (but I probably won't read another romance, not for me). Many people tend not to read nowadays and I feel that is due to television being more accessible and because people haven't found a genre that they are passionate about. People have read to many duds in their life. So I have taken it upon myself to find an article that could help others find that book that will drag them into the next. You just need to find something that you like and try it out.
In this article, Meagan Frank asked a few of her readers to tell her what makes a good book to them. I found that their points are very valid and helpful.
"A good book is one that makes the reader feel. It takes the reader on a compelling journey."
