TsundokuSubmitted by John Pappan on Thu, 11/30/2017 - 11:00am
Have you ever known someone that hoarded books? Maybe it's not that extreme, but maybe it is. The Japanese came up with a word for someone that hoards books.
"The word tsundoku refers to the act, or the hobby, of obtaining far more books than one could ever possibly read."
I can honestly say that sometimes I am a tsundoku. From time to time, when I go to an old bookstore, I will buy old books just because they have cool cover art if they are cheap anyway. I'll take the books home and put them on a shelf and never read them but occasionally, pull it off to look at the cover.
In this article, you will learn the origin of the word as well as a few interesting facts that have to do with it in this short and sweet article.
