Language is important and everyone uses it. There are many different languages and some of them have been lost in the past. In this article, you will learn four reasons why losing a language is bad. We want to preserve all of the diverse languages that are left.
"The effects of that language loss could be “culturally devastating,” Basu wrote. “Each language is a key that can unlock local knowledge about medicinal secrets, ecological wisdom, weather and climate patterns, spiritual attitudes and artistic and mythological histories.”
I have some Native American blood flowing through my veins and I have gone to a few language courses just so I can know a bit more about my culture. Knowing more about my heritage is important to me and I hope to learn more throughout the rest of my life.
